Director
   

Olimpia Lombardi is an Electronics Engineer, Graduate and PhD in Philosophy from the University of Buenos Aires. She is Principal Investigator of CONICET and Professor in charge of the area of Philosophy of Science in the Faculty of Exact and Natural Sciences of the University of Buenos Aires. She specializes in philosophy of physics, particularly quantum mechanics.

Researchers

   

Sebastian Fortin has a degree in Physics from the University of Buenos Aires and a PhD in Epistemology and History of Science from the National University of Tres de Febrero. He is Assistant Researcher at CONICET and Head of Practical Work at the Physics Department of the Faculty of Exact and Natural Sciences at the University of Buenos Aires. He specializes in philosophy of physics, particularly quantum mechanics.

Martín Labarca holds a Ph.D Mention in Social and Human Sciences (National University of Quilmes), a degree in Chemistry (National University of La Pampa) and he is a Professor in Chemistry (I.S.F.D. N° 45, Buenos Aires). He is Independent Researcher at CONICET and specializes in Philosophy of Chemistry.

Federico Holik has a degree in physics from the University of Buenos Aires and a doctorate in physics from the University of Buenos Aires. He completed postdoctoral studies with Angel Plastino at the La Plata Physics Institute and Gabriel Catren at the Paris Diderot University in Paris. He is currently a CONICET researcher. He works on quantum information topics.

Roberto Laura holds a degree in physics from the National University of Rosario and a doctorate in physics from the National University of La Plata. He completed postdoctoral studies with Christ Isham at the Imperial College of Science and Technology in London and with Ilya Prigogine at the Instituts Internationaux Solvay de Physique et de Chimie in Brussels. He is currently Professor of the National University of Rosario. He is also a Category I Researcher in the Incentive Program of the Ministry of Education of the Nation. He works on the fundamentals of quantum mechanics.

Leonardo Vanni received his doctorate in Physical Sciences at the University of Buenos Aires in formalisms of Quantum Histories. Later Vanni obtained his doctorate mention in Social Sciences and Humanities in the National University of Quilmes, with a thesis in Philosophy of Science. His area of work focuses mainly on fundamentals of Quantum Mechanics and problems of interpretation. He is also a professor at the National General Sarmiento University and the University of Buenos Aires.

Mariana Córdoba is a PhD in Philosophy from the University of Buenos Aires (UBA), Professor in Middle and Higher Education in Philosophy (UBA), Assistant Researcher of the National Council of Scientific and Technical Research (CONICET) and Lecturer of the Common Basic Cycle, UBA. She has obtained different research grants in the area of philosophy of science and has been part of several research groups. She has participated in national and international academic events and has published articles in national and international magazines and in different books. She investigates on subjects of general philosophy of the science and on the philosophical problem of the personal identity.

He is professor of Philosophy of Physics in the master's degree in philosophy of the National University of Quilmes and of Introduction to Scientific Thought (CBC - UBA). Cristian López has a degree in Philosophy from the University of Buenos Aires. He is currently doing his PhD in the same University, funded by a doctoral fellowship from CONICET. He specializes in philosophy and metaphysics of physics, in particular, philosophy of time, ontology of quantum mechanics and philosophy of information.

Juan Camilo Martínez González has a degree in Chemistry (Universidad Francisco José de Caldas, Bogotá Colombia); Doctoral student in History and Epistemology of Science (National University of Tres de Febrero, UNTREF) under the support of the National Agency for Scientific and Technological Promotion (ANPCyT). His area of work is the philosophy of chemistry. He is currently investigating the relationship between quantum chemical theories of chemical bonding and their relationship to molecular structure.

Daniel Vaccaro is Professor of Physics (National Institute of Technical Teachers) and Bachelor in Teaching of Sciences (National University of General San Martìn). He is currently writing his thesis for the Masters in Epistemology and History of Science (National University of Tres de Febrero). As a lecturer, he is the Head of Practical Work in the Faculty of Physics of the CBC (UBA) and in the Department of Physics of the FRBA (UTN) and is Assistant Professor of Physics III at the Faculty of Engineering of the Universidad Austral.

Fiorela Alassia is biochemist (UNPSJB) and currently finalizing a master´s degree in Epistemology and History of Science (UNTREF), under the direction of Dr. Zambon and Dra. Córdoba. She is assistant professor in Epistemology and Methodology of Science and in General Chemistry at the Faculty of Natural Sciences, National University of Patagonia San Juan Bosco. Manuel Herrera Aros is an Mechanical Engineering (Universidad Tecnológica Metropolitana, Santiago - Chile) and a Master in Philosophy of Sciences (Universidad de Santiago de Chile). Jesus Alberto Jaimes Arriaga has a degree in chemistry and a master in chemical sciences from the Autonomous National University of Mexico (UNAM, Mexico City). At the moment he is doing his PhD studies in philosophy at the University of Buenos Aires (UBA) and is a doctoral fellow of the National Council of Scientific and Technical Research (CONICET). His area of research is the philosophy of chemistry, in particular he studies the relationship between chemistry and physics, taking as a case study the quantum theory of atoms in molecules.

Claudia Vanney has a degree in Physics from the University of Buenos Aires and a PhD in Philosophy from the University of Navarra. She is a Professor at the Universidad Austral. She was Director of Studies of the Faculty of Engineering of the Austral University in the period, Director of Research of the same Faculty and Vice-Rector of Academic Affairs of the Universidad Austral in the years 2008-2010. She is currently Director of the Institute of Philosophy of the Austral University. She specializes in philosophy of physics, in particular the problem of determinism.
